An early afternoon thunderstorm sparked a fire on Sonora Island. Martha and Sarah spotted it and we called it in to the fire reporting center. We also called neighbor Greg and he called the head man at Sonora Resort. Soon after a Sonora Resort helicopter with bucket arrived to dump water. Another helicopter, maybe from B.C. Forestries, joined in. About thirty buckets of water were dumped. After the fire appeared to be out helicopters continued to survey it until almost dark. Taking no chances.
